Happy New Year ! I hope that you have all enjoyed Christmas with friends and family and that the Kings when they visited on the evening of the 5th left you a gift (perhaps)!! My decorations are now down and packed away for another year. I am looking forward to spring and the year ahead.
The Advent Lunch at Bar Espana in Es Castell in December was enjoyed by many of you as was the Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols.
Events coming up for 2023 are :
JANUARY 2023
Tuesday 17 January 2023. Blessing of the Animals in the Esplanade (probably at 12 noon). More details on the weekly service sheet or the website.
Wednesday 18 January. “Epiphany” Lunch. We will be meeting at Opera Restaurant on the port in Mahon at 1.30pm. There is no menu del dia but we will be able to choose a plate of pasta or a one of their delicious pizzas followed by a pudding. Wine or a soft drink will be included. The cost will be 20€ p.head which I hope will cover everything. Please let me know if you plan to join us or use the sign up sheet on the Church notice board. If you would like a lift there, let me or the Rev. Paul know.
Saturday 21 January. Ecumenical Service for Christian Unity at 5pm in church followed by refreshments. Details on the weekly news sheet or on the website.
FEBRUARY 2023
Tuesday 28 February – Lunch possibly at the Chinese/Japanese restaurant Itanou in Malbuger. Details of date, time and venue to be confirmed !
GOLF TOURNAMENT 2023. It is likely that this will be held in September next year. Details will be announced as soon as possible. Remember friends, visitors and neighbours are more than welcome to join this fundraising event.
Make a note in your diary of dates and join us if you can. More information from me or from the Rev. Paul.
We hope to continue with regular get togethers through this year. If anyone is willing to host an event – coffee morning, afternoon tea, or simple tapas that would be much appreciated. Please let Carole know.
