Santa Margarita’s annual Christmas bazaar was opened by the mayor of Es Castell, Lluís Camps Pons, at 10:00 on Saturday, 15 November. Despite an early rain shower, and a few difficulties with the retractable roof of the market square, the weather improved by the time of opening, and a steady flow of visitors availed themselves of the food, crafts and other items on sale. Many members of the congregation work very hard for this event, which helps us not only to raise funds, but to interact with the local community, British and Menorquin. Saint Nicholas was present for some of the time, to present children (and some others) with chocolate coins and a brief story of the saint.
