We retold Jonah’ s story, complete with storm-tossed boat, jettisoned cargo and ultimately the despatch of Jonah to what seemed like a watery grave, until he was swallowed by a huge fish.
Chaplain’s Fish for Jonah
To illustrate the story, we made paper fish, swallowing little Jonah. The chaplain’s creative capabilities, once again, failed to win any prizes.
We also decorated cup cakes in a variety of ways to represent fish.
The process of decorating the cup cakes proved rather absorbing, especially for one who seemed to feel that as much icing belonged in her mouth as on the cake.
Someone seems to find the icing irresistible.
Someone still likes the icing.
