About 40 people gathered on the beach at Punta Prima in Menorca at sunrise on Easter Sunday to welcome the new light of the day and the new light of Easter.
A brisk (and slightly chilly) wind did not deter the spirits of those gathered, who included members of the congregation of Santa Margarita together with friends from the New Life Church in Es Castell, whose paster, Geoff Chad, led the singing of Easter Songs.
We also announced the joyous celebration of resurrection with a rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah by Lana Tingay, leader of the Gwent Brass Band which is touring Menorca during the week (and performing at Santa Margarita on Thursday, 24 April).
Following the service on the beach, many of those present were treated to a hearty breakfast at the Caseta of Heike and Samir.
