The JaFfA (Jesus a Friend for All) club gathered on Saturday afternoon to think about the names of Christ. Between the prophetic anticipation of the Messiah (Christ) and the ways that Jesus is described in the New Testament, often in his own words, there are at least 25 different names.
We were given candles with 25 of the names inscribed, and made candle holders for them. We coloured pictures that illustrated some of the names of Jesus (for example, when he said, “I am the vine, you are the branches.”). We decorated rocks (Jesus is the rock). And, of course, we decorated cakes for the two birthday celebrations, sang happy birthday, prayed the birthday prayers, and ate the cakes. All in all, a lot of fun was had by all.
