Christmas is a mess.
Well, the story of Christmas is about a mess: messy childbirth, in messy circumstances, with messy people hanging about and visiting.
And yet …
Perhaps we need to remember that when life is a mess, that is exactly where Jesus came to meet us. In fact, God consistently comes to meet us where we are: this is what is shown in Christ’s humble birth.
Perhaps we should make an effort to meet one another where we are, exercising patience and tolerance, remembering that this is how God loves us.
May God’s love be with you this Christmas and remain with you.
