Celebration! 25 years of full-time chaplaincy.

This year (2017) will be for the Anglican Church in Menorca, based at the church of Santa Margarita in Es Castell, the twenty-fifth year of full-time chaplaincy.

On Sunday, 3 December, the first Sunday of Advent, we plan to celebrate this milestone in the history of the chaplaincy with the Rt. Revd. Michael Marshall, retired Bishop of Woolwich in the Diocese of Southwark.  We are delighted that Bishop Michael has been able to accept our invitation to come and share the occasion with us: he has a long association with the chaplaincy through his family.

We will be giving thanks for the partnership of the past between priest and people and between God and his church as well as looking forward in the spirit of Advent for God who is faithful to fulfill what has been started until “the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We will also celebrate the happy relationship between the Anglican community of faith and the Roman Catholic Church that has sustained the chaplaincy in the light of Pope Francis’ recent statement that “we must walk together.”
